Town Supervisor
315 736-4255

Shaun J. Kaleta, a lifelong resident of Oriskany and the Town of Whitestown, became Town of Whitestown Supervisor on January 1, 2016. As supervisor, he is the town’s chief fiscal officer, oversees all departments and presides over board meetings. The town includes the villages of New York Mills, Oriskany, Whitesboro and Yorkville.

Since the beginning, Shaun has been driven to serve his community, give back and make a positive difference. In March 2010, he was elected Village of Oriskany Trustee at the age of 20 - - a position he held until being elected supervisor. As a trustee, Shaun oversaw the village’s summer recreation program and spearheaded the village’s annual Christmas celebration, “Christmas in the Place of Nettles” - - something that he still coordinates today.

Shaun is a product of the Oriskany Central School District and graduated summa cum laude from Utica College in 2011 with a B.A. in Government and Politics. He is currently pursuing his Master’s degree in Public Affairs from the University of Missouri. After graduating from Utica College, Shaun spent two years working in media at both WKTV and WUTR, in various roles. In addition to serving as supervisor, Shaun is currently employed by the Oneida-Herkimer-Madison BOCES as a public relations assistant.

Shaun, who resides in the Village of Oriskany with his family, likes to stay active in the community. When he isn’t working or in a meeting, he spends time with the Utica College Men’s and Women’s Tennis teams and is a volunteer play-by-play broadcaster for select Whitesboro Central School District athletic contests video streamed on the district website. Shaun is also a member of North-Utica Whitestown Rotary and the Polish American Congress. In his spare time, Shaun likes to spend time with his family and friends, work out, play tennis and golf, watch sports and travel.
