Shaun J. Kaleta, a lifelong resident of Oriskany and the
Town of Whitestown, became Town of Whitestown Supervisor on January 1, 2016. As
supervisor, he is the town’s chief fiscal officer, oversees all departments and
presides over board meetings. The town includes the villages of New York Mills,
Oriskany, Whitesboro and Yorkville.
Since the beginning, Shaun has been driven to serve his
community, give back and make a positive difference. In March 2010, he was
elected Village of Oriskany Trustee at the age of 20 - - a position he held
until being elected supervisor. As a trustee, Shaun oversaw the village’s
summer recreation program and spearheaded the village’s annual Christmas
celebration, “Christmas in the Place of Nettles” - - something that he still
Shaun is a product of the Oriskany Central School
District and graduated summa cum laude from Utica College in 2011 with a B.A.
in Government and Politics. He is currently pursuing his Master’s degree in
Public Affairs from the University of Missouri. After graduating from Utica
College, Shaun spent two years working in media at both WKTV and WUTR, in
various roles. In addition to serving as supervisor, Shaun is currently
employed by the Oneida-Herkimer-Madison BOCES as a public relations assistant.
who resides in the Village of Oriskany with his family, likes to stay active in
the community. When he isn’t working or in a meeting, he spends time with the
Utica College Men’s and Women’s Tennis teams and is a volunteer play-by-play
broadcaster for select Whitesboro Central School District athletic contests
video streamed on the district website. Shaun is also a member of North-Utica
Whitestown Rotary and the Polish American Congress. In his spare time, Shaun
likes to spend time with his family and friends, work out, play tennis and
golf, watch sports and travel.
